چکیده

نانسی مورفی، فیلسوف و متأله معاصر آمریکایی کوشیده است تا با استفاده از فیزیک کوانتوم، تبیین جدیدی از فاعلیت خداوند در عالم ارائه کند. به اعتقاد وی، هر نظریه‌ای که در باب فاعلیت خداوند در جهان مطرح می‌شود، در صورتی پذیرفتنی است که با علم و الهیات سازگار باشد. مورفی برای تبیین دیدگاه خود در باب عملکرد خداوند در جهان از «علیت پایین به بالا» بهره می‌برد. او خداوند را متغیر پنهان در سطح کوانتومی می‌داند. در نتیجه، با استفاده از عدم‌ تعینی که در این سطح وجود دارد، فاعلیت خداوند را توضیح می‌دهد. از نظر مورفی هیچ رویداد تصادفی‌ای در سطح کوانتومی وجود ندارد و هنگام رخداد فعل الهی، قوانین طبیعت نقض نمی‌شوند. در مقالۀ حاضر، پس از تلاش برای ارائة تبیین دقیقی از دیدگاه نانسی مورفی، نقدهای واردشده بر دیدگاه او طرح و بررسی شده‌اند
